PAUL MCCORMACK

Paul McCormack discovered his love of jewellery from the early age of 12. He began crafting jewellery in an art metal course at high school in his home town of Wagga Wagga, using brass, copper, nickel silver and resins. Whilst still in high school Paul did work experience at Nugent & Andrea Jewellers, and the following year secured an apprenticeship with the same company.
With almost a lifetime of experience in the jewellery trade, Paul has been fortunate enough to have created breathtaking jewellery for some of Australia’s leading design houses. He launched his own personal brand Mycenae Jewellery Creations, with the opening of his first boutique design studio in Burleigh Heads, where he has lived for the past 23 years.

From 2011 Paul decided to operate as a freelance designer and subsequently let go of the retail store. Choosing to now meet up with his growing portfolio of local and interstate clients in local coffee shops, or visiting clients at their own personal residences. With the flexibility of operating in this unique way, it means that Paul can add even more individual service to his very personal style.
The vision is simple, Paul takes on board each clients individual lifestyle and tastes, then  designs a piece in collaboration with you. Sometimes he'll need to have several meetings to determine new ideas that always pop up in the creative process. This affords each and every client the opportunity to be involved in every step of the journey. It’s very similar to the relationship that needs to be forged when building a new home. The relationship is where this creative process begins and the piece is a product of that relationship.

"I love the responses that come once the piece is completed, I have experienced   everything from tears of joy and people hugging me. After all these years it’s still   something that is thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding to me.”
